Introduction
High-speed cartoning machines are essential in modern packaging lines, offering efficiency, precision, and seamless integration with other equipment such as blister packers, labeling machines, and case packers. These machines automate the process of folding, loading, and sealing cartons, significantly improving production speed and reducing labor costs.
Working Principle
Box Feeding & Formation
Flat carton blanks are fed from a magazine and unfolded into 3D structures using suction cups and mechanical guides.
Precision sensors ensure correct alignment before product loading.
Product Loading
Blister packs, vials, or other products are transferred via conveyor and inserted into the cartons.
Servo-driven mechanisms adjust for different product sizes without manual intervention.
Leaflet Insertion (Optional)
A synchronized inserter adds instruction leaflets, folded as required (1–4 folds).
Closing & Sealing
Tuck-in flaps or glue-based sealing methods secure the carton.
Hot-melt glue or pre-applied adhesives ensure tamper-evident packaging.
Batch Printing & Ejection
Inkjet printers mark batch/expiry dates before cartons exit the machine.
Features
This machine is a high-performance product that integrates machinery, light, electricity and gas, which is independently designed by our company based on the introduction of foreign advanced technology, and is manufactured strictly in accordance with the cGMP requirements of the pharmaceutical industry.
1.This machine is a continuous operation, with automatic opening (sucking) of boxes, instruction folding (1-4 folds), unloading, feeding, batch numbering, box sealing, detection and rejection, etc. (hot melt adhesive device can also be installed), stable operation and easy operation;
2.It adopts servo stepping, PLC and human-machine interface automatic control operating system, stepless frequency conversion speed regulation, and high degree of automation;
It has an overload protection system for the whole machine, an overload protection system for the folding mechanism, and an overload protection system for the pusher. When an overload such as jamming occurs, the machine will automatically stop, and the fault information will be displayed on the touch screen, which is convenient for maintenance and troubleshooting, reduces damage to the equipment, and ensures human-machine safety;
3.The packaging procedure adopts the principle of packaging priority. When there is no packaging, the instructions, the paper box, and the packaging will not be sucked, so as to ensure the qualified product rate and reduce the waste of packaging materials.
4.The packaging types are diversified and suitable for packaging medicine plates, medicine bottles, pillow bags, hoses, soft double aluminum plates, granule bags, plastic trays, cosmetics, food and some electronic products;
5.The machine will automatically stop if there is no instruction manual for three consecutive times, and it will automatically stop and alarm if there is no paper box.
6.Various automatic feeders and conveying mechanisms can be designed according to customer requirements.
7.When the packaging material is replaced within a certain specification range, there is no need to replace the mold again, only simple adjustments are required.
8.It can be connected with other supporting packaging production lines to achieve linkage.
Integration with Other Machines
High-speed cartoners are designed for interconnected production lines:
With Blister Packers: Direct linkage ensures blister packs are loaded into cartons immediately after forming.
With Labeling Systems: Integrated labelers apply barcodes or regulatory labels before sealing.
With Case Packers: Finished cartons are automatically grouped and transferred into shipping cases.
Advantages of Automated Integration
Speed: Achieves 200–400 cartons/minute, reducing bottlenecks.
Flexibility: Handles diverse products (tablets, syringes, food) with quick changeovers.
Quality Control: Reduces errors via synchronized sensors and rejection mechanisms.
Cost-Efficiency: Minimizes downtime and manual handling.
Conclusion
By combining high-speed cartoning machines with upstream/downstream equipment, manufacturers achieve end-to-end automation, ensuring compliance, scalability, and competitive productivity. Future advancements will focus on IoT-enabled monitoring and adaptive robotics for further optimization.
