1. Punching and die: punching and die is the basic parts of automatic tablet press, each pair of punching die is composed of three parts: upper punching, middle punching and lower punching. The structure of the upper and lower punch is similar, and the diameter of the punch is equal, and the punch of the upper and lower punch is matched with the die hole of the middle die, which can slide freely up and down in the middle die hole, but there is no gap that can leak the powder. Die processing size is a unified standard size, with interchangeability. The specifications of the die are expressed by the diameter of the punch or the aperture of the middle die, generally 5.5-12mm, each 0.5mm is a specification, and there are 14 specifications.
The punch and die are subjected to great pressure during the pressing process, and are commonly made of bearing steel (such as crl5, etc.) and heat treated to increase its hardness.
There are many types of punches, and the shape of the punch depends on the desired shape of the tablet. 2. The working process of automatic tablet press
